2Click Backup vs buying NAKIVO yourself

Same backup engine. The difference is who runs it, and what you have to buy and maintain next to it.

2Click Backup runs on NAKIVO Backup & Replication, so the backup engine is the same either way.

Choose NAKIVO yourself if…

  • you already run backup infrastructure and have someone who looks after it;
  • you need to keep the backup server and storage entirely on your own premises;
  • you protect many workloads and want to optimise licence cost yourself.

Choose 2Click Backup if…

  • you want backups running today without buying servers or storage;
  • nobody on your team has time to watch backup jobs and test restores;
  • you want offsite, immutable copies and a DR plan without building a second site.

Switching from your own NAKIVO

  1. Order a plan with the price calculator.
  2. Install the Transporter at your site (see Connect your site).
  3. Add your hypervisors, machines and Microsoft 365 in the backup portal; the nightly jobs are set up automatically.
  4. Keep your old backups until their retention ends, then retire the old backup server.
